1123xx
one less finger but makes it a little easier. only 3 fingers then
B--1--Index
G--2--Middle
D--3--Pinkie
A--3--Ring
E--1--Index
The F chord is the same as an open-E chord moved up one fret. Just barre the whole first fret with your index finger, and fill in as listed above. Once you learn the F chord, you can play any 6-string barre chord by moving the whole thing up and down the neck. Move it up two more frets, and that's a G chord. Up two more, that's an A.
that was one of the coolest things to learn... like, that moment right b/t where you don't know something and you do know something... that's cool. that was a great one...

Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down
When I first started playing,I used all my first to play an F chord! aww the memories:P
-Homer J.Simpson
I'm working on this, and I think you need a bionic index finger or have a steel plate planted in it.

Reading 2006 - WOOOOW!!!!!
Paris 2006 - Fucking amazing
Wembley 2007
Well, until you get used to the idea... try either the high 2/3 of the chord or the low 2/3 of the chord.
Low:
E--X
B--X
G--2--Middle
D--3--Pinkie
A--3--Ring
E--1--Index
High:
E--1--Index
B--1--Index
G--2--Middle
D--3--Ring
A--X
E--X
Barring the whole fret with the index finger will take time... mostly it's finger strength, but you need to develop the dexterity, too.
having tiny hands with an acoustic doesn't help. oh well..
ok ill try
E
A 1
D 3
G 2
B 3
E 0
WRONG!
E--1
B--2
G--2
D--3
A--1
E--x
You forgot to make it minor... B-flat-minor, major-seventh.
I just tried to play that. Man, that's kinda tough.
That would be C7. If you really want a challenging chord, try this one, it opens the Smashing Pumpkins "Mellon Collie" piano track.
E -
A 10
D 7
G 7
B 9
E 10
good advice - 1123XX is good for now.......
- Mr. Edward Vedder 7/11/03
it is tough, but once you get it, you can incorporate it into things you never thought of... crazy. it almost has a jeff buckley tonation to it, but i've never heard it used, that i've noticed anyway, in any of his songs.
E--1--index
B--2--ring
G--2--middle
D--3--pinky
A--1--index
E--x--thumb (yeah right)
