Funny this comes up today! It was one year ago today that Youthinkyou'reold and I were at the Southby's Clapton guitar auction in NYC and watched Blackie go on the block and go up and up and up to $959,000! I'll never forget the hush and the excitement in the room when they pulled it out and held it up. Another great piece of history.
I never even bought a pick at that auction!
It was cool to see the ES-355 from the Cream era, and the Martin that he played unplugged with, too. They went for maybe $750,000 each!
