There are probably better people to answer this question.

http://www.pickguards.com can provide what you need.

250K vs. 500K are level values for the taper of your pots. If you want to get really fine control you can go up to 1megOHM pots. Basically it controls the taper level of your p/u's. How much roll on or off you get on your volume and tone pots. Telesonic would probably be good to PM on this.

you might also find info at http://www.stewmac.com

    from stewart macdonald.

    250K vs. 500K
Generally, 500K-ohm pots are used with humbuckers and 250Ks are used with single-coil pickups. 25K pots are used for active systems.

You can use any value you like, but a 250K will give a slightly warmer tone than a 500K pot. The 250K pot bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground. A 1Meg-ohm pot will attenuate even less than a 500K pot, so if you want to hear your guitar "wide open" you may want to try one.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I think I'll post this in here...

Yesterday after searching for pickguards I came across this great site:

"Build Your Dream Guitar" is really great, check it out!
