Does anyone have an opinion or researched these before? They are the exact same price but I'm trying to determine which is better... anyone???

EDIT: I forgot to mention the Fostex VF80EX

  • I'm too lazy to look, but I assume these are low end digital recorders?

Anything that has "ZOOM" on it is a POS, and that's a fact.

I did this comparison with the Tascam vs. Fostex for their $300 recorders, and now you are looking at the $500 ones.

I don't know. There are some tradeoffs to both.
One has XLR mic inputs (i think the Tascam doesn't have them) ... the build quality on both looks a bit suspect ...

do you need a dedicated console, or do you have a computer you can use ... 'cause i recommend that above all else.

    :D
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • i thought the same about zoom, (even though i've never really had a problem with them) but on all the sites with user reviews the zoom was the clear winner on everything... it was weird. anyways, i'm staying away from computer-based recording for now and am just looking to get started. it's just that i know it's something i'll stick with and would rather spend $500-$600 the first time and get more flexibility.
