Ok, so I see a few of you have ranted about how great the shannon OD, and Shannon products in general are. What if anything could you compare the sound to? Where would one go to obtain one of these jems? I can't seem to find an online store, and have not seen them at the local stores. Thanks all...
What ain't a country I ever heard of. Do they speak English in what?

the only ones available as new right now are the phaser and uniphase.

the phaser is based on the old MXR phase 90. the uniphase alters that circuit to approach the sound of the uni-vibe.

you can buy direct from http://shannon-effects.com
  • so, Ebay is my only hope for the OD?

The shannon OD is a well built "original" Ibanez/Maxon TS808 clone. with the JRC4558D chip I believe he may also use the TI chip, you'd have to ask him.

Erics trademark is the smoothness of his stuff. The pots feel good, the outside and inside looks professional and the sound is big round and full.

The gear page, and pleading with Eric to build you one might be your best options other than Ebay

If he says no we can suggest other stuff.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

  • i got my shannon o/d earlier this year just by emailing him and asking if he had any left. his answer: i have a few. i don't really know what to compare it to, other than to say it is the best o/d i've ever used. it keeps your guitar/amps tone, but overdrives it. very simple, but sounds great.
  • I had two of his pedals, now they are gone thanks to some fuck of a crack head who probably sold them for 5 bucks apiece. had one of the first ODs and a "custom" phaser with the uni-vibe mod. yep a one of a kind. til someone stole our equipment trailer and all of my gear with it. I'm currently in the begging stage for hopefully one of the few ODs he has left and I've GOT to get his phaser back. Loved 'em both and used them almost on every song.

yeah, I have a hard time making myself stop soloing and turn the uniphase off.

  • I love his OD, it's a great compliment to my Tubescreamers... much more Marshall-y, more range than a standard TS. Very smooth, EXTREMELY well-built. I have a Uni-Phase for some color, and am still aiming for a Phaser. Tried the Phaser out a while ago and loved it... cleaner than the RI Phase 90, and with better options. Easier to get a sweet-spot.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
