So, there was a big sale at a new Guitar Center in my town and I decide to buy an electric. I've owned an acoustic for about a year and have been wanting an intro electric.

I ended up buying an Epiphone Special SG. I don't think it sounds too bad, though the low E vibrates against the frets sometimes.

I also got a Fender Frontman 15G. Its a small 15 watt practice amp and was only about $70 but I'm not too sure about it. Sometimes it gets a buzz and I have to whack the top to make it stop. I just don't know enough.

Can anyone tell me the best small amp under $90? Also, if you have ideas about the guitar, please share them.

Thanks,

  • You can adjust the truss rod and the bridge on the guitar so there's no buzz. And as far as good small amps in that price range....I'd say the Marshall MG series sounds pretty good, better distortion than other practice amps I've played, plus some built in decent effects.
To myself I surrender, to the one I'll never please.
  • I also would vouch for the marshall MG series.

A better sounding practice amp than a fender frontman.

I have heard alot of great stuff about roland cubes also
