Such a bitch ain't it?

Anyone have any clever ideas on how to neatly store cables....hanging them and whatnot? I've tried everything from coatracks to around a mic stand...always gets messy....is that just the way it is?

Thanks hehe

Velcro strips work great for me. I wind them up and stack them and then store them in a sack.

Get hair ties that have the marbles on each end and the little metal ring in the center that divides the loops. This is what my band uses. Velcro wore out too fast.

I use planet waves cables, and they have a little elasticy clip that works well. I just hang them on a lamp I have.

i've just got tons and tons of cables...

hair ties with the marble ends huh...gotta try that!

    keep the ideas coming in.

I'm not a fan of actually coiling them....but it does get very messy....

I also read somewhere that coiling them actually ruins the wires over time but I don't buy it - any truth to that?

    thanks guys

loosely wrape them, not around you arm, just wrap them the way teh cable naturally wants to. then use the velcro ties, elastic, leather tie, whatever and tie it off, then they will never get tangled, part of setting up and breaking down is cables, and they need to be kept tidy, clean, and undamaged or you can run into many unexpected problems.

+1 on the Planet Waves. I believed the hype and bought Monster Cables back in the day. after returning my 10th cable, I just said F-it, and bought the Planet Waves. 3 years later, they still work and sound great. Plus, they have that sweet band/clip that keeps them together when not in use. :)
