Changing pickups in an electric - question...

Alright....I've got a beautiful looking guitar, les paul style. It's a company called Xavier that produces those shelltop guitars similiar to what Zemaitis produced.

Now obviously the stock pickups aren't the best...and would changing the pups to gibson classic 57's really change the sound...or is there more to it, like the pots and if there are other electronics I should know about?

Any tips would be helpful!

Thanks guys

you can just change the pickups only. but if the wiring components are of lower quality, replacing everything can be beneficial and it isn't that much more expensive to do everything after you've invested in good pickups as well.

however, just the good pickups can make a dramatic difference depending on the quality of what's in there now.

open the guitar and draw a diagram so when you replace the wires you have a nice picture. Hey I've been doin some reading on lindy fralin pick ups and recently bought some for my strat and i love them i also have an sg and was looking into their zebra humbuckers. I've heard really good thing about them. One guy on harmony central replaced his les paul stocks with them and said they blow the lp pick ups away. Just a thought
    Makes much more sense.................
