Pedal Boards

Well, after trying to build and failing at building my own pedal board (without it weighing 50+ pounds hah)....I'm looking for an alternative to the Pedal Pad MPS XL that costs $349 but that's pretty much the spec's im interested in, in terms of how much space for pedals and road-ready essentially.

Whatcha think I should go for, or is that reasonable for my needs (which are:)

Z Vex fuzz probe
Boss TU-2 tuner
Dunlop Wah
Dunlop Univibe w/expression pedal
MXR Phase 90
Keeley TS9DX
Ross Flanger
Marshall 5-channel amp footswitch
ABY pedal
Korg Kaoss Pad

Thanks for your help

-Seth

(Kaoss pad will probably eventually get mounted on a mic-stand mount)

I'm looking at the SKB PS-45. I'd like to hear thoughts on BOTH boards.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I like the SKB because its powered, and you just plug in and unplug from the top when you're done, so you're pedals don't need to have outputs at the end necessairly.

You can always do something like this:
ATA Pedal Board (With Wheels) 28" X 24" for $289 and a size up to 40" X 24" for $309.00 (how big do you want???)
They make a bunch of different sizes (bottom), and with it having wheels it looks like it travels better than most.
If I had the chance to do it over I would have probably done it like this, especially since my pedal board now weighs about 50-LBS!!!
It sucks carrying such a heavy pedalboard from one end of the airport to the other (or across a large parking lot).
I wish mine had wheels like this - doesn't matter how much it weighs with the wheels.
I had to get a small cart for mine - but since my board weighs so much I've gone through three since last year.
And if you get yourself a few "1-Spots" and daisy chains you can forget the power supply problems with most pedals (no need
to get a "Pedal Power" or "DC Brick" - the 1-Spot works better and doesn't even take up any space)

    Cheers . . .

    - Ian

i used to have the PS-25 and the power supply was terrible so make sure to check that out in the 45. it was just a daisy chain in the 25 and caused me some noise issues.

unfortunately the thing that draws me to the pedal pad is their "patented stair" step

    Check out http://lytpedalboards.com/

I was thinking of buying from them eventually. They have soft bags if you're a smalltime gigger or hard cases that cost roughly the same as the pedalboard itself.

This is probably the size you're looking for: http://lytpedalboards.com/superlyt32

And I think the case for that is also $80, so $160 total for board/case, not including a power supply. The benefit is the board itself is only about 6lbs, compared the 50 you tried to build yourself. :)

    Other options (potentially more expensive):

    Pumaboards - pumaboards.com
    Trailer Trash Pedalboards - trailertrashpedalboards.com

Trailer Trash makes high-quality stuff, and if you were going to spend $349 anyway, I suggest you browse around there.

Kevin at PumaBoards is the man!
His work is by far the best and he is not expensive at all.
Both my NYC boards were more and had far less to offer.

He is a one man show, so it takes a little longer, but he can do anything. I mean anything!

My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

He is the hot rodder of pedal boards LOL

I am thinking of a blue sparkle to put 2 or 3 and a wah on for a little carry along board.

My pedaltrain is perfect for me. Lightweight, plenty of room, indestructable.
