I was the guy who y'all helped with deciding on a Joe Pass, Sheridan, or Dot guitar. Well....I didnt get any of them. I got the Casino. Guitars are so hard to find in Left-handed, so i spent a little more than I wanted, but got a beautiful instrument.

It just arrived today (My Birthday too!!!!)

I sounds great...I am still at work staring at it. I might have to leave early.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what types of strings are best for this model guitar?

AWesome, glad you got sorted. That thread was a great education.
    Lets see a pic.
AS to strings. I don't think it really matters that much. I buy GIbson BRite Wires for my Les Paul, cos thats what it came with, but I'm not sure I could tell the difference if someone snuck in and changed them. GIbson do a few different sets. The vintage ones might be a little more mellow for your jazz sound.

good recommendation. i was gonna suggest gibson vintage reissues myself. brite wires are good too, but i slightly prefer the vintage reissues. and i can definitely tell the difference between gibson strings and other brands like ernie ball and d'addario. gibsons might cost a few dollars more, but they play better, sound better, feel smoother, and are more durable than any of the other brands i've tried.

congrats on the casino, jonny. sounds like a good decision to me.

Yeah, I have started putting Gibbo Brites on all my rock gits, cos I do like em.
I used to use D'Addario XL's but I bought a few sets of gibbo's and now I just stick to them.

Nice. Good choice, I'm about to get one too I think after I sell my Les Paul.

I think Pure Nickle wraps sound awesome on those types, but the loud strings are good too depending on what you want to do.

My preference are DR Pure Blues and I also use the Tite Fits I'd probably set it up with 11's.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
  • Thanks everybody.
I played it a little last night, and DAMN! it has some great tones.
I am going to have to get a lot better now - a reason to practice even more. It was so fun going back and forth to my regular old epiphone electric. The old electric felt so big and clunky now, but i liked it.

I'll take some pics, but does anyone have any suggestions as to how to post them?
