Can anyone vouch for the FM 212R?

My friend got one pretty recently, and we're probably going to use it for recording. He was looking for a high-wattage amp.
Its only 300... Is a peice of crap, or is it worth more than every penny? We'll eventually be gigging with it, I think.

Don't need a hand, there's always arms attached.
Don't get behind I can't fall back.
Why must we trust all these rusted rails?
They don't want no change. We already have.

I ASSUME you mean this:

(It helps if you include a manufacturer and basic description... "Fender FM 212R guitar combo amp"... and a link to an example helps a lot, too)
I've had bad luck with Fender's solid-state amps. Their clean channels are pristine, but can be kind of bright, and I never liked any distortion on board one of them. It will certainly be loud enough, and fairly dependable (much more than a tube amp!). But if it sounds good, that's the most important thing... they're probably built like a tank if they live up to my experience with SS Fenders.
It certainly has good feedback ratings on the MF site... I would look here, too:

http://www.harmony-central.com has reviews of just about anything... they're a priceless resource. I encourage your buddy to leave feedback about the amp once he gets used to it, too... there's only one review on there now.
