Ok, so this is the guitar i currently play with. It was about 350$, and for the price, it plays really well. Im thinking about upgrading the pickups, which to be honest, im pretty ignorant about. Someone mentioned seymor duncans? are these good? what else might make this thing sound a little more like a les paul studio?

Here is a quick reference to many of the best around. http://www.projectguitar.com/ref/pickup.htm
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

If you're looking for an inexpensive way of getting a more classic LP tone, look at the Seymour Duncan '59. There are some better models out there, but they'll cost more, whereas the '59 is about the best deal on the block. I have one in a Tele project, and I love it!
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • Heh, I had an ebony one of those 6 years ago.
