http://www.musictoyz.com check out the pickup's there.

Lindy Fralins are by far my favorite. Dimarzio Virtual Vintages are wonderful too.

What kind of sound are you shooting for? Or combinations of sounds?

I'm a firm believer in the Seymour Duncan Quarter-Pounder. Their Lil' '59 Humbuckers are nice, too. Either will fit directly in a Strat without routing.

I'm basically looking for a set of pickups that will be louder than the stock ones i have now but will also give off less feedback.

take a look at some of the stacked humbuckers seymour duncan and others make. they might be what you're looking for. basically, higher output, noiseless, in a single coil space.

The Quarter-Pounder is a high-output single coil that is similar to a P-90, but fits in a standard Strat pick-up hole. I really like the character and body of my Q-P in my Tele. It's beefier, less twangy, but still retains some single-coil character and grit. Like Exhausted said, the stacked coil humbuckers are a good way to go. They also make a standard humbuckers with smaller coils to fit in a Strat pup hole. Go to http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/products/strats.shtml and check out their options for Strat replacement. Read the description, maybe listen to the sound samples, and if you know anyone who works with guitars and pups, ask them (like a repair guy you trust). Really, there are a lot of options to choose from. It's all a matter of preference.

It depends on what style and how hard you like to play. I like Lace Sensors

It depends on what you get. They have a bunch of different ones if you go straight through the company. I have a blue in the neck and hot gold in the bridge, it sounds nice and smooth for me.

nine, Lace sensors are smooth. See Clapton strat. depends on what you want. QB's are nice. JB's are really smooth.

Virtual Vintage are nice too. Basically I like a smooth P/U. Boost output with a booster. The higher meg you go the more mids and the less treble you get.

my guitar teacher and the guy at Guitar Center who I talked to hates Lace Censors, but I know Billy Corgan uses them. They take the bottom out of an sg, and then blend it with a strat somehow. I dont know. I think its a pretty love it or hate it sound

  • So you want pickup advice. So far, all we know is that its for a strat. Single coils? Or single, single, humber? Pickups that are louder than your pups, don't mean much. Maybe you think you want higher output. Louder doesn't mean better. Also, I like vintage pickups. Do you want vintage with hum (a great choice), vintage noiseless (many people who have been playing for a long time hate these) modern (higher output) etc. What I'm trying to get at is, what kind of sound are you looking for? It all starts with that. I bought my vintage pickups cheap at vintage vibe guitars. com. $105. But, I'm a big Seymour Duncan guy. Musictoyz.com sells your best pickups. Just let us know what your looking for and we can help you.
