For cheap LP clones I think Agile has the best reputation. Go read up on Harmony Central about them, they get good reviews from the people who buy them. http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Agile/LP2500-01.html

The site for Agile is http://www.rondomusic.bigstep.com/category.html?UCIDs=940498 ... Rondo is the shop that makes them, so you have to buy thru them. Although there are a lot of them on Ebay too.
  • Out of those choices I'd shoot for the Epi Les Paul 100. You'll probably be able to snag one off ebay in your price range and they're not bad little guitars. I owned one once and it was a nice playing guitar. That would definately be my choice out of the ones on that page.

I've never heard of agile, they may be good. But when it comes to playing a gibson that's not a gibson, epiphone makes some really good guitars.
