Sorry but not really understanding what you're typing out.
Which song tab is it you're looking at?
If you put a link to it then it might be a little easier to understand your question.0 -

The song is called tattoo lady by Rory gallagher and what I am looking at is the first solo. The half semi circles and the \\ bits I want to know what they are for.0 -
Well...it says I gotta install something, so I personally, opted not to, sorry...
but I found this...something u can read through as well for fun...
The standard practice is to write extra letters or symbols between notes
to indicate how to play them. Here are the letters/symbols most
often used :
h - hammer on
p - pull off
b - bend string up
r - release bend
/ - slide up
\ - slide down
v - vibrato (sometimes written as ~)
t - right hand tap
x - play 'note' with heavy damping

When you see tab books . You can see just say 12 with a bit arching arrow over it. I take this means bend the string . what about if it had the half semi circle on it going to 130

That's usually a hammer-on. Hit 12 then put your finger down on 13 without plucking again.0 -

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

my only suggestion is play it as a bend and listen to see if it sounds right... then play as a hammer -on
this is where the ear becomes important.... if you know the song very well (i must admit i've never heard of it) then you'll know if the bit you are playing is right..oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
Well its not from a book but its the basic of what you would get in a book. I have one on the who so shall check it out.0
