I have a big problem with this. 234 pictures? don't you think that's a little excessive? I was sitting behind you in section 3 and you raised your camera like 10x/song. It got old real quick. I can see taking 10, maybe 20 pictures but come on that many?!?!? Be a little more considerate next time.
Yeah I understand whre you're coming from - I try to keep it to the first 2 - 3 songs, but sometimes you just get the urge! I'm more reserved when not in the front row and therefore have to hold my camera up.
I'm sure a lot of people want to preserve their memories of the show by taking photos. As cameras have gotten smaller and better at the same time this has become easier. I can tell you that I would love to have photos of my own of this quality from the "old" days as opposed to the ones we had to take with disposable film cameras....
As for it being excessive and interfering with your enjoyment of the show, just ask next time. I'm sure that this person, and others, would apologize and be more considerate. I know I would. I think I've been to one show were one person was being an ass about this issue; everyone else has always been accomodating.
Tampa's pictures are even MORE intense!! I dig that backdrop... and Ed's shirt is wicked... and I like that Stone is growing the beard (more people need to support the beard by the way) and long hair...
I could just hear the music coming out of your pictures... Seriously, I almost feel as if I was AT the concert!
Thanks again for sharing these... I have to admit... I'm saving a few of your photos... I've got a TON... and these are superb!!!
I'm assuming it's OK to save some of these for strictly personal, private use, but I don't know how to save stuff with the spaceball filename, all I get is a blank square. And some of these photos will help get me through a month that I'm having a hard time getting through -- anyone clue me in, please?
These really are wonderful shots, thanks for sharing.

the guy next to me did and he stopped for about 5 minutes. then what? get security and have him removed? I'm too passive to do something like that (as most people probably are).
Thank you. I'm glad most of you enjoyed them. Seriously though. If it bothers you then say something at the show. It's a little late now. In my defense most of the pics were shot in continuous (burst) mode. Not a single pic was taken using flash. Oh. If you think 200 is a lot. LOL. You don't want to know how many I deleted then. Haha!
I didnt even click to enlarge yet and I saw The Master and.........WHAT THE F***??!!! THOSE ARE SOME GOOD PICTURES OF HIM!!!!!!!!!! Nicely done!!! You were pretty CLOSE!!!

based on your response i'm guessing you were annoying someone else and not me. we asked the 6'4'' douche in front of us to put the camera down. he also took a bunch (i'm guessing in the hundreds) and then would show the ugly who was with him the picture.
but you represent all picture takers so i had to call you out.
my ticket said "no cameras or recording devices". what did yours say?

Call me out? Grow a pair and say something at the show. As for the comment about 'no cameras'. All tickets say that. I did nothing wrong bringing my camera to the show. I didn't sneak it in. Pearl Jam allows it. You chose not to bring your's. That's cool. I went the other route. If you'd like to discuss this further you can PM me.

the spaceball file happens when the owner of the pictures sets them up like that so that they can not be copied...

THAT much I know, but the poster who I quoted in my post said he had saved some, so I thought there was some way that I didn't know about, which would be an infinite possibility!
Having said that, I think it's damn cruel to show some of us those shots and not let us redecorate our refrigerators in a Stone/Jeff motif -- hey, I'm calling out the photog, too, bad enough you screwed up the show for folks, now you dangle photos in front of us and won't let us save them or print them out?

Just ask again, or maybe tell the 6'4 guy that you will gladly swap spots with him if he wants to stand behind you and take the photos. One of three things will happen: he'll stop, he'll trade seats, or he'll tell you to fuck off. If the third happens and you're not able to enjoy the show then get security.
But there's always a better way. As I said before most people will oblige. You must have just ran into someone who doesn't appreciate the commradery that fellow Pearl Jam fans feel for each other.
I'll be taking photos at the shows, I'll keep the camera low, and I'll do it quickly and discretely. If I'm in any way hindering someone from enjoying the show and they ask me to stop, I'll gladly oblige.
I really have to agree with filthy_frank on this one; I can't remember a show - Pearl Jam or anyone else - where there wern't hoards of people raising their arms up to take pictures, scurrying around (in front of others, of course) to take pictures, and even the drunkards without cameras who keep trying to "leap" rows (and shoving everyone in their way) to get to a vacant seat, even if its only while the "vacancy" is while someone goes to the restroom.
I was SO looking forward to this West Palm Bch show, but I had broken my arm about 4 weeks prior and had plates & screws put in from my elbow to just below my shoulder. I really thought I was good to go, since it was healing nicely, but due to complications, my doctor had to reopen 5 inches of stitches last week and flush out the wound - leaving me with fresh stitches. It wasn't the rain that kept me from going to the show (I've become a pro at covering my arm; hell, I have to shower with it): It was knowing from experience that I was going to get bumped and jostled by a whole lot of inconsiderate fans, unfortunately (I jump around as much as the next guy/girl, but I keep my body to myself and whomever I may be at the show with).
I learned a long time ago that it's not worth the time or energy to try and take pix at shows - you'll already find better ones posted on RollingStone.com - I'd prefer to focus on the show itself. I wish others did the same...maybe then I wouldn't have had to give my tickets to my nephew, because I just couldn't risk it.
great photos!!
much better than mine...
and we were in the same row at West Palm and you were one row behind me at Tampa
i try to keep the picture taking to a minimum... and just enjoy the show.
the guy in front of me at West Palm had his camera up the whole time, recording... and it was a bit annoying seeing the show that way.
