Simmons SDX help

My drummer friend just got a Simmons SDX off of ebay. We were playin around with it and it has some discs with some string and synth sample on it. The problem is that they sustain forever. Does anybody know a way to control the sustain.

I realize there arent alotta people out there that have messed with one of these, but I figured with the gearheads on here somebody is bound to have seen one.

This guy also has a binson echorec with mixing box. He had it sent to England and got it redone to original specs. Its alotta fun to play with.
