Gig-fx chopper in stereo

Got the chopper for xmas. Like it so far, but there is some signal loss. It kinda works out for me, b/c it helps keep it pretty subtle. Anyway, I was wanting some recomendations for for another amp to run it in stereo.
Should I try to blend the same sound together and get an amp similar to my Traynor Blue. Or should I get something that kinda counteracts. I live over over 2 hours from a good music store and I was wanting a couple recomendations for when I make it out of town.
$500 is the absolute max I could go, but I would like to get one for way cheaper, as I have my first child on the way.
