Decent recording software?

Can anyone recommenad a decent (but cheapish) recording software so i can record my guitar onto my computer?

    Probably Cakewalk will do it..its a nice software that lets you record instruments and lets you combine it with instruments previously recorded in midi format. The sounds are by far better than the ones used in Fruity Loops for instance. I haven't used many of this softwares but truly Cakewalk seems like a good choice.

    For the best of everything just get a basic/small version of ProTools (it's the recording industry standard).

  • I had good luck with this program here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It's pretty easy to use and it's free. The sound quality is pretty good as well. It's good to start with untill you can save up the funds for a better expensive program.
