Hi guys/gals.

I want to share with you a thread of discussion over at audiocircle.com

http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=34599.0

I thought it was a great idea by the guy who started the thread. I find it comes in handy and is very helpful in tracking down good, honest and reliable tube vendors.

I'm sure most of you experienced TubeHeads already know of (and shop at )good vendors, but it never hurts to have a running guide (or reference point) to help us out when we are looking for different tubes. Plus, for anyone new to tubes this could be a very helpful tool in eliminating any chances of shopping from less than desirable vendors.

I hope you guys find this helpful.

Maybe we can do the same thing here and provide other experienced TubeHeads and new TubeHeads with a running guide. I'll post the first, below.

What do you guys/gals think? Good idea?

Maybe we can request it become a "sticky" at the top of the page?

I ordered a matched pair of JJ/Tesla Ecc802/12AU7 (Long Plates) on December 29, by phone, and they arrived at my home on January 3rd. Tubes work beautifully!! Helpfull and friendly.

Lord Valve (contact through the guitar hub website, I'm unsure what his website address is)

also there are a few antique radio sites that are cool.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

This may be a wee-bit premature, because the tubes haven't arrived yet.

But between this past Saturday and Sunday, I ordered 11 tubes from the ....... http://www.thetubestore.com, in two seperate orders.

A matched pair of the new Tungsol 12AX7 (New Sensor Corportation, not NOS).

And a pair of NOS Tesla E88CC/Saber 6922 (1960s era).

    A matched pair of Electro-Harmonix 12AX7.

And then 5 more of the new Tungsol 12AX7 (New Sensor Corportation, not NOS), last night.

This morning I received an e-mail from Jon, telling me they have combined the two seprate orders into one, which eliminates an extra shipping charge and that they have upgraded the shipping to Next Business Day Express at no extra charge, due to the quantity (or size) of my order.

Now that's awesome customer service and a real nice gesture on their part!!!!

    So far..........

Product: Pending on arrival of tubes and my trying them out. But they have an excellent reputation for selling quality tubes.

    Service/Price: :):):):):) !!!!!!

I have one more tube shopping spree to do next week, then I'm done. At which point I'll have all the tubes I want or need for my audio gear......for the next 10-15 years. Although, I may need to occasionally buy more for my Ampeg amp.

    Yes I am, Pacomc79.

I installed them in my Pre Amp and CD Player, last night and let them warm up (cook) for several hours.

Around 9:30 PM I hit "Play" on the CD Player and let the music play till 11:30 PM. Then left the system powered up all night.

Early this morning I started playing the systrem again and they really sound sweeeeeet! I'm playing the system all day to let the tubes settle in (or burn in); and because I love to listen to music all day.....anyway.
