Pro Tools Midi Syncing

Any one have any experience with midi syncing in Pro Tools? Our studio is all analog, but have done syncing with Cake walk before. Anyone done this with Pro Tools? If so any advise etc....
Reason for this is all the drums for a friends band will be recording on our 24 track reel to reel. We will use the protools to initially be the master, and the recorder be the slave, then after laying down the midi track we will use the recorder for the master and the pro tools rig for the slave.
Any advise would be great.
