Bass Pod foot switch?
All Those Yesterdays

First off I'm the first to admit that I'm a vintage buff. And also the first to admit that its cheaper to have a variety of vintage guitar amps and cabs then a variety of vintage bass guitar amps and cabs. I have finally broke down and bought a Bass Pod XT, that I use in the studio. Live I'm currently have a Solid State Ampeg (reliability reasons) but am refabing an old silver face bassman, that I'll be switching over too, and have played in the past thru a couple old tube heads. Any ways off to the actual question.
I'm not really informed on the Pod level. I'm wondering if there is a cheap pedal out there that I can use with the pod to switch between the presets. I'm pretty sure Line 6 has some billion dollar pedal, but is there any other brands that maybe don't have as many options etc... that for sure work with the Pod?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

So far as I know, the only switch that you can use with the POD's is the Line 6 switch that, yes, is pretty pricey. The problem is that it's a digital connection, using (I believe) Cat-5 wire (ethernet). So, unless someone is making a pirated aftermarket system for it, you'll just have to make due or pony up. Now, they do have two very simple versions that just switch between a few presets:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/420892/
But they are VERY limited. The next two options:

And they do have a deal on a blem:

But the blem deals are only while they last. So, it's $30, $75, or north of $200. As far as it goes, I've used a few POD's with the full floorboard, and it makes for a really nice system... if you know what your presets are and what all the switches do. It's like having an array of stompboxes with your amp models... very cool.
Now, I don't think they make a PodXT Live for bass yet... but if/when they do, it's a Pod built into a footboard controller, so that would make things a lot easier. But like I said, I think they only have the one for guitar, so far...
Honestly that two button controller is all I need. And really $30 is nothing. But obviously the price is still higher, because there is no competition. I only use the POD in the studio, and we have a tendancy to record the Basic three tracks (drums, 1 guitar and bass) live then go in and add. And the only reason I want the pedal is to switch between two presets (ex. one clean the other channel a little "warmer" for the refrain etc). I do appreciate you help greatly though!
