Need a descent reverb pedal (things that are used on ebay, and go cheap are a plus), that I'm going to used with the Valve Jr. during just screwing around jamming. Nothing special. Doubt I'll use it when I record, probably use a rack mount spring unit by then.

Those dang boss reverb pedals go for almost what they cost new on ebay. Hoping to get something for around $40-$50 used.

  • if you want a cheap one, there are some danelectros out there. I'd either go with Boss or digitech though

but the jacks are on top so the width of the footprint isn't much different than a boss pedal with it's side jacks.

power is more of an issue since it drinks a lot of juice.
  • Unfortunately the Boss RV-3 or newer version is really the only way to go. You can find them used for a couple of bucks less but even at full price, they're deffinately worth the extra cost. No other stomp box in that price range comes close.

the digitech digiverb is 50 bucks cost, so that's what a lot of them on ebay go for I assume.

it eats batteries so adapter is the only way. I have one. It's fine for me, it's very deep and drippy, the spring pretty much sucks, the plate is ok, the room is awesome and the best setting on the pedal. Halls are fun to play with, the reverse and other settings are not really all that useful. I use room all the time.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
  • I like the digi verb and I totally agree with them eating batteries. I have a digidelay and a hyper phase and they both died on batteries in a show...it sucked

Cool, like I said this is only needed, for at home jamming, to give a little wetness. No big use, won't be played out and won't be used to record.

  • I had a DigiTech DigiVerb, and it kicked ass. The only reason I don't still have it is because it's not stereo pass-thru. But I highly recommend it. It does kill batteries fast, it'll kill a Duracell in 4 hours of playing, so the adapter is mandatory.

I currently use a Line 6 VerbZilla, and it kills. Best reverb pedal out there, IMO. It's not cheap, but you'd never get tired of it.

If you want super-cheap, I agree with the little Danelectro pedals. I almost bought one of them, just because the little mofos sound so good. They're not as sturdy, though, so don't expect them to make the gig every night for ten years straight. But for affordable, decent-sounding verb, they can't be beat.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

always use adaptors dude, it's so much easier. also, even if the pedal is off you have to unplug it from all the cables or the batteries will still be used up in the morning. i recommend just getting a five jack adaptor and plugging in your pedal set that way
  • Yeah, like I said, I learned it the hard way, haha. What's even worse is when I forget to unplug the pedals that I have using batteries-MAN IT SUCKS!

I found this by the way looking for the reverb

yeah, slap back delay is essentially the same sound effect as reverb (at least to my ears)

All would be sweet to have for sure. Problem is I'll never play out with this set up, its just for recording, and for screwing around at home with it. If I was playing out I'd have a fender spring reverb unit sitting next to the Ephiphone on that cabinet.

Why is that? Get the assembled chassis, with no tubes. Get the replica cabinet from just about anyone. Speaker from where ever you want and your all done. Heck even get the marshal logo off ebay if you want.

If I'd get one from them, it would be a head version of this.

    http://www.ceriatone.com/productSubPages/marshallTMB/marshallTMBComplete.htm

Sure it doesn't have the tremolo, but has a little tone ability, plus you can actually jumper the channels.

Plus Ceriatone has a better transformer in it, that won't burn out!!

I liked the assembled chassis way. It's like $70 more. Not that bad, considered the hours it takes to solder and assemble all that.
