The day after Christmas they blow tons of stuff out at cost or below cost to free up inventory. If you are looking for a pickup swap or cheap distortion pedal get there early. Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers (57 Classics) that usually run $100 a piece are going for around $19 bucks same is true for several other pickups. See what you can find. I usually don't buy anything but this is a good time to find good deals. Usually you can bargain a bit with them too.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    Thanks

wow 60% of list or off the everyday price?

    that's a good deal.

Usually many accessories are D coded (discontinued) and are sold at less than cost so yes in some cases you could get a better deal. Also on Packages they can give you more of a break such as Mic, mic preamp, stand, and cable.

Usually the GC GLP (guarenteed lowest price) is about 35% off list and they will beat anyone elses price any further discount comes out of the salesmans salary.

I didn't expect them to do it, but I asked and they did. It seems to me that retail pricing is kinda subjective. I have never seen a guitar shop selling Fenders for the MSRP in Fenders catalog. I usually see 20-35% off MSRP on the net. I took that pricing in with me to Guitar center and they matched it, at the cash register I said I'll buy the pedals if you take another 20% off the total. He told me to hang on, came back and whispered done deal.
They did not dicount the Mesa, but I am willing to wager if they had them in stock they would have.

Yeah depends on the guy and how fast they sell them. If they had 5 upstairs and they are looking to get rid of them you can get a great deal. I hooked my buddy up with a cost discount on a tonemaster head. I had to buy it myself.

He took 20% out of his own total to sell it to make the sale. He still made enough on the mesa to cover it and you got a good deal. That's pretty much how it's done.

Almost everyone's price is right at 35% of list now. It used to be that everything was list and you haggled. Now its marked down pretty much as far as the store is willing to go. Congrats on the good deal. You are still happy with it huh.

    Probably no Malians.
And you gotta hurry to meet the BV social club!

We'll be able to get in even with the embargo, it's more fun that way! Although, at this point there's a lot of people that are REALLY REALLY REALLY skeptical about travelling with ME! Even I am!

Meanwhile, though, it's palm wine and Cipr
    o!
There were some shady characters in the group that was leaving today, like carrying rifles and other weapons. We just didn't want to get involved with that! The country is in a bit of tribal strife right now!
So we'll hang tight here for a few,,, whatever. Hopefully days!

Probably best to lay low. I wonder how hard it would be to hike it at night? Probably to far huh.

300 miles across the desert! 2 days by car,
Ever hear the old saying from Timbuktu and back?

They knew what they were talking about!

Who the hell WAS my travel agent!?

    Oh,

    Me

    DOHHHHHH!

We actually are cool just hanging here for the present, and finding a ride in another little convoy. We never did find Ali Farka, and it's not worth it to go now.
We are actually very welcome here in town. Full of old cultures and open and hospitable people. It's just the falling apart country out there somewhere. Apparently north. We're trying to go south.

We'll just wait till a group of Malians we trust takes off. You travel in groups here! We found that out a little late!
    hmm

I might be a little off topic now.

Oh yeah,,, No guitar centers here,,,,just sweet potatoes!

    Hey,

Yeah, he's probably having too much fun at the store! I'm bummed that there's no cool sales like this as my local music store!

    Peace,

no pickups for sale. Fucking sucked. They didn't have much that was even interesting save the vintage section. A couple damn nice Martins Bastards sold my 65 vibrolux damnit. Nice 67 Epi Casino $3700 (are you fucking kidding me!!!)

Sorry fellows false alarm. Should be first of the year anyway. If there's anything at all.

Oh well at least Fender finally decided to do something right and they've released the Hot Rod series as well as the Blues and Pro Jr's in Lacquered Tweed. Man do they look nice. Really really good next to an original 54 deluxe.

Oh and MIG yes they had a 66 Champ and Vibro Champ!! but they wanted $595 a piece. I think that's a little high.

I went to Atlanta and Marietta and both of them were dry unless you're into digital multi effects.

  • That's nothing, Paco...

Shop here has a '59 Bassman chopped to a 2x10 combo with a Plexi mod... but they want like $1600. And a silverface Super Reverb in fucking gorgeous condition for $1395. Great amps (the Bassman chop job was perfect, re-covered in laquered tweed, original Fender speakers, just perfect) but the prices were giving me indigestion. But I really do appreciate the effort, man...
