Conflicted.

Ok, so I'm ready to by. I've been ready. I've got the money, hell if I wanted I could get a custom shop but that's a lot of change to drop on a guitar.
I'm hovering around that 1000 dollar range and I know it's going to be a strat in sunburst and an ash body I prefer 3 color over 2. I dig the cream to mint green pick guards. I'm pretty square on the maple neck. Obviously straplocks. The machines will be locking whether they come like that or not.
Here's the conflict. 50th anniversary. Awesome, American series has the custom shop 54 pickups yes they are amazing. It comes with all the pleasentries. Really nice case etc. plus the supposed future value of a 50th anniversary guitar.
American Deluxe Ash. SCN p/u's. Quiet. Locking tuners, proper pickguard 7 way switching 3 color burst.
American Deluxe 50th anniversary. Same as the above 2 color burst with gold hardware. needs a pickguard swap to darker than that damn 1 or 2 ply white NOS look. Also has the 50th anniversary goodies package.

My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I have played those on a couple of occasions...
However, versatility of the new pup system is supposed to be great.
Tough call. I would avoid the gold hardware, personal choice.
I would go for the 50th anniversary myself... seems to have the most mojo.
That or this one:

I kind of detest the gaudiness of the gold hardware.
That is a damn nice Anderson... I sent you... he he
I would check them out for sure. Hell, McCready would be envious of that strat.
be sure to find one with some magic to it, and you will be happy, whatever the headstock says.

Nice. Andersons are great guitars. I really like their Cobras... it is like a PT Tele... they play really smooth too.
a lot of good strats at my regular shop too... you are going to enjoy the new guitar... I am excited for you.
i would go with the 50th anniversary. great pups, nice case, etc., future value, etc. that way if you ever decided that you didn't want it, or found another strat that was better for you, you would have something valuable to trade. i'm not a gold hardware guy either. good luck. have fun
oh, pure. so tempting in so many ways.......
I'm going to need one of these to match please.

What's up with figured maple being all the hype? I find it almost as cheesy as gold harware. They seem like great guitars though.
Out of the Strat's, I'd pick the 54 'cause of all the Vintage Juju but I can't really say because I didn't play any of em.
Anyway, have fun shopping. And good luck making tough deicisions... talk about a luxury problem
hmm. post nr 1000.
greedy aren't you?
no, the bogner can stay. The guitar comes first. I need a good bass player more than a new amp the guitarist is always to damn loud anyhow.
here, I'm told this is just like the real thing if your easy to please.

yeah they are nice. I'm ok doing without. You get used to it.
There's something magical about watching tubes glow. Thus it's kind of tough for me to get into that kind of thing. Pod's sound great through a PA rig though.
I'm just buying a guitar first, then a foxrox CC2 and some george L's cables and I'll be done for a bit with that. Unless I win the 300 million tonight in which case I'll employ all of you in various positions of your choice whatever you want.
This just begs for a lot things of nasty things to be said but I won't wrong forum. Good luck on the guitar and lottery.
oh you can say them, freedom of speech and all no censorship here. Obviously I probably won't win the lottery. I'm hoping my roommate wins though. He says I can be the captain of his sailing vessel and charge of his entertainment. So Carribean life and a fun job sounds pretty good to me. That's what I'd do anyway.
thanks for the help. I'll go play some Andersons today that are way out of my price range and maybe guitar center will have something in by tomorrow. enjoy the holiday and be safe.
I call guitar shiner!!! 60k a year or I strike!!!
I say deluxe 50th aniversary. I don't think the gold hardware looks bad at all on that guitar although I am against it in general. I think it matches the feel of the guitar.
I miss you already, I miss you all day
That's what I will do one day... run a guitar store... probably after my fiance gets finished with law school, I will look into guitar or amp design... use my engineering skills for somethin more fun.
Then maybe open a shop where I sell my amps and other stuff.
That would be great.
well, look me up. I'd be happy to be a salesman or product specialist. Even a buyer. Man, If I was Guitar Center's buyer it'd be a much better place.
