On January 8th, Andrew Wood would have turned sixty, had his life not been cut short at the height of his rising and legendary rock career - first in Malfunkshun and then in Mother Love Bone. Gone far too young, his absence is still felt - especially on his birthday.Andrew and his brother Kevin Wood shared more than blood. They wrote and performed music together in Malfunkshun, stood as founding musicians in what would become the Seattle sound, and grew side by side through life’s earliest chapters. Before the scene, before the spotlight, they were simply brothers—laughing, loving, and finding their way through music. In this intimate episode, Kevin reflects on their childhood and teenage years, offering personal stories rooted in a deep bond and a shared devotion to sound and song. Beyond the legend and the stage persona, a quieter question lingers: what was Andrew Wood really like? This is a celebration of Andrew Wood, and a reflective journey through the early lives of two brothers whose music helped shape the birth of the Seattle Grunge scene.
