FYI streaming schedule is out and most of their selections are geo blocked, including Montana Grind. Probably can’t even buy a ticket to gain access if you don’t have a USA CC
    VPN is your friend.

    Big Sky Festival

    Big Sky Festival

This month, two films deeply connected to Jeff and the skating community will premiere at Montana’s Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Held annually in Missoula, the festival is celebrating its 23rd year of debuting non-fiction films in the west.

    MONTANA GRIND

Directed by Danilo dos Reis and with original music by Jeff, this film follows 11 years of skateboarding across the state—from ranches to tribal lands—revealing how skating unites communities, heals Native youth, and gives purpose to rural life.

Screen Montana Grind in-person on Feb. 18 at the Roxy Theater and virtually from Feb. 19-26.

No, won’t work because you need to buy a ticket to get access to the link and they check CC info.

Honestly, why would you do that? Would you do that if  “matter of time” was geo blocked, probably not.

Ament is only one in an impassioned army of skateboard enthusiasts and civic folk-heroes who  serve as the narrative backbone for director Danilo dos Reis’ film Montana Grind.

Watched this last night by buying a streaming ticket through the Big Sky Doc Festival. It was excellent. From Jeff's music score, to the heart wrenching and heart warming stories of Native American and rural kids in Montana, to the gorgeous scenery, this doc had it all.

I might be biased because I live in the great state of MT, but I can't recommend this to a PJ fan strongly enough. The way Jeff goes quietly through this state, improving communities one skate park at a time is a joy to see. He's truly making this place and the world a better place.

    Jeff's the man.

Indeed. Can't wait to see it when it's available to stream in Canada.

JA is definitely the skatepark whisperer in MT. I appreciate that he sells his MPS merch sparely because as you mention PJ fanbase won’t appreciate it. it will just be online and trying to get sold. The PJ fanbase really lets JA down with MPS.

I’m all for it, I really appreciate what he does for people that need a safe space to be themselves. I wish I had that growing up.

I’m very excited for MPS future, maybe they will start building basketball courts.

Hope it comes your way soon! Have you tried emailing the Doc Series to find out when it'll stream up there? They were super responsive when I emailed them about trading my in person ticket for a streaming one (Sadly, I caught a cold the day before the movie premiered, so couldn't go see it in the theater).

Such a good uplifting film! Y'all should watch it.

Jeff is all over the film. Learned some stuff about him. Such an amazing, grounded person.

A couple of us had the pleasure of viewing the documentary Montana Grind at home yesterday, which premiered this last week at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula.

It demonstrates the reasons we think it’s so important to build a skatepark here (and features the company we are hiring to build ours!).

It’s still showing virtually for a few more days. Search “Montana Grind” and purchase tickets to watch here -
“Box Elder, MT. Population 87, World Class skatepark. From the Rocky Mountains to the Great Plains, on ranches and tribal lands, Montana skateboard culture is as diverse as the Big Sky State itself. Over a period of 11 years, Montana Grind portraits how skating builds community and brings healing for kids struggling in Native communities, and grows purpose and understanding in shrinking rural America. Montanan skaters like Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament, bred from the explosive skate scene of the 1970's, and legendary skateboarders inspire a new generation of the Montana Grind through the construction of more than 35 epic skateparks across the state.”
