and it's downtown too, I could go pick it up. Crap.

It's 3 pickups and some electronics away from being the Pacocaster.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

  • Ha ha!! Weren't we going to buy the Deluxe Strats at the same time? I got my 50th anniversary and you're still looking!

You might as well wait it out.
The 60th anniversary's are coming out soon! ;)

    Here you go: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7382297605&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I have my eye on this. It was in the "Other similar items for sale" after the $75,000 1955 strat sold! :D

well, I played about oh 100 or so Deluxes, and I love them. But I'm a sunburst guy, it dosen't get any better than a nitro sunburst. That and the AD's that GC down here had were dark and poorly finished, I just couldn't pull the trigger. I mean it's only been since 2000 that I've been strat hunting.

My problem is I want a 2500 dollar guitar for about 1200. crap. I know.

That, and I want to trade my les Paul for a Keef Tele.

window shopper me. I have to sell so much stuff too lying around.

speaking of tax time... should I buy a Les Paul, a 335, an SG, a Duesenberg, or another telecaster...

    decisions, decisions...

If I could find a nice 335 with a big neck and a bigsby for a good price I would have to seriously consider it.

you're a TELE guy. I'd go with a hollowbody Tele with dual hums and a big neck first. To date I haven't played a 335 with the neck big enough for you, not that they aren't out there, I just haven't met it yet.

Mark's Guitar Loft has a used '59 dot historic... those have a big neck and a big price tag... once I figure my taxes I might be able to swing it.

One of the custom shop '52 tele relics would be cool too... they have a big neck on them for sure.

oooh, 59 dot would be awesome, Imagine a hollow tele with some Fralin steel poles or HD Super 90's, if you got one in the nashville config, with a super 90 in the middle, you could get those single middle P90 Casino tones that are really cool.

the tele jr does a good job on all these tones... chambered with P-90s... very nice.

I am thinking I need a humbucker guitar. I would like to enjoy a les paul, but I haven't met the right one yet.

Music 123 has a 58 plaintop in tobacco burst with the custom authentic aging on it... looks pretty good too.

nice, didn't you have an R4 at one point?

I had an R6... I was set to trade the Falcon for an R4 but the other party backed out.

I did really like the LP Standard I played through my King Royale... very good combination.

I am thinking about a Duesenberg Starplayer TV, in black... My first name is Dan and it has a D emblem on it in several places...

Also, it has a P90 neck, HB bridge, bigsby, and is a super high quality instrument...

At the same time, the Gibson name always carries a lot of weight with me.

    Doosy sounds nice.

I'm sure you'll get something good, if you buy. You could get something built like you want it too.

    Damn that looks nice.

Well I'll just say this, every time I run into a Suhr like the classic I played today I fall in love.

John Suhr is awesome, Don Grosh, but if you want an LP, I think the JJ guy might be good to check out, Mike Lull oh and maybe check out Trussart too.

    USA custom guitars/Warmoth etc.

    http://www.suhrguitars.com

there are a few dozen in Texas that are good too I'm sure, Kendrick comes to mind but I haven't had one built from any of them.

There is a guy in North Carolina that Jason Barker (steelbender.com) used that looks great.

    pick out something nice..http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/showcase.cfm

trussart would be nice... JJ? I am not familiar with them.

Grosh and Suhr are very nice... a set neck model from them gets pretty expensive though.

I talked with the dealer with the Dueseberg... beefy les paul neck... it's stock just went up. $2250 shipped. (stock dipped a little there)

I should just custom order a Gibson... 355 with chrome hardware and a 345 style fingerboard (rosewood with split parallelogram inlays) and 50s lp style neck, bigsby, with custom authentic aged black finish, cream binding, and an older brown with pink lining case.... I am sure that would be cheap :D
