I listened to the 2017 mix during the week. Am I the only one who thinks its terrible.  The 2006 original one far better IMO.

    It’s a mixed bag for me but I lean towards it being a downgrade for sure,Some of the quieter tracks like Parachutes sound a lot better. The louder tracks have all the life drained out them though. Severed Hand on the 2006 mix is a straight up rager, the 2017 is sluggish and dull.

    Sorry for being off topic but was there an issue with the vinyl repress? I’m going to dig it out this weekend , but I thought there was a pressing issue?

    The og came out at the peak of the loudness wars… so unfortunately both sound like shit to a degree.  I want a de-master of the original mix personally lol

    I think the compression on the self-titled 2017 remix improved the punch of the drums. Makes the record sound tighter overall. But too much compression can sound harsh. 

    I continue to believe that Yield is the best sounding, fully realized recording. Not too far behind that is Vs. I love this topic and could geek out on it for hours.
