Vote Pearl Jam Songs for the Top 1043 Songs of all Time 2025
https://q1043.iheart.com/featured/top-1043-songs-of-all-time/?2025Every
Thanksgiving Q104.3 has a countdown of the top 1043 Songs of all time voted by fans. Some years our guys are represented well others they're barely in there. These were the songs that made the list last year. Hopefully we can get one song in the top 20 this year. If you do vote keep it to these songs as the casuals will only know these songs and have a better chance to get in.
Alive 37, Black 73, Better Man 91, Jeremy 184, Even Flow 236, Yellow Ledbetter 297, Daughter 378, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town 501, and Corduroy 841

Darn. We've failed them. I don't know if my effort had any impact. But if it did, imagine how much lower they might be if even on the list?BF25394 said:"Better Man" was in the 420s. It was No. 91 last year.
When they first started this countdown it was 104 songs and Better Man was #49Post edited by igotid88 onI miss igotid880 -

"Even Flow" down from No. 236.
This countdown has its roots in the Firecracker 500 going back to the 1980s. The people voting are by and large the same people voting then, just older, and it will skew heavily to the classic rock of the '60s and '70s because of that. It's hard for stuff from the '90s and later to get a foothold. Pearl Jam probably hit its peak on the 1996 Firecracker 500. "Jeremy" was in the top 50 and six songs were on the 500-song list altogether. ("Better Man" was No. 496. That's when it was only a-year-and-a-half from its release.)
Anyway, no one has failed anyone. People should vote for their favorite songs (if they're voting). Pearl Jam is my favorite band because they have hundreds of songs I love and have never made an album that I haven't loved, but only one of the ten songs I voted for is a Pearl Jam song. It was my No. 1, but there are many other songs by other artists that I also love, and love more than any other Pearl Jam song. I have no interest in stuffing the ballot box. There's not much point as any one vote is a drop in the ocean. My No. 1 ("Rearviewmirror") won't even end up in the top 1,043.

I mean I understand. But if everyone voted like you did there would not be so many Beatles and Zeppelin songs on the listBF25394 said:"Even Flow" down from No. 236.

Don't underestimate how popular those bands are, though. The Beatles are the most popular band in history, with multitudes of fans across every generation. Led Zeppelin is also massively popular, especially among the cohort of people voting for this countdown. They have albums with RIAA certifications of 24 million, 16 million, 12 million, 11 million, 10 million, 8 million and two at 6 million. Pearl Jam has one album at 13 million, one at 7 million and one at 5 million. They're both in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they're not in the same league in terms of popularity.igotid88 said:

Maybe there are people stuffing the ballot box for the Beatles or Zeppelin or Bruce or the Stones, although I feel like that's not the M.O. of this crowd. (That seems like more of a modern-day "fan army" kind of thing, and not in the "KISS Army" sense.) The band that I'd be less surprised to hear that this was happening for would be Rush. I could see some Rush cultists voting a straight Rush ticket.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
