I know, especially Mike, was Very into Kiss as a young teen, and considered Ace as a major early influence. That makes Ace indirectly connected to my most important music experiences (sometimes all night, and "part of every day"). I thank him for that.
I remember the night when Ace joined PJ next to Mike onstage for "Black Diamond". I can only imagine how excited Mike must have been- a big deal for him. We even got some lead vocals from Mike on that, as I recall. A truly special night for him, MSG '08. I will have to pull out my boot from that show, and re-experience it.
Condolences to all that were close to Ace.

    I got to see Ace wail on Rockin in the Free World at Borgata 05!  That was a great show for a number of reasons.  Smaller venue, GA, debut of Gone, Harvest Moon with Sleater Kinney, Bee Girl.  I remember paying $300 for a scalped ticket and it was worth every penny.  But thanks to Ace for capping off a great night!

    Thanks, Ace, for realizing a group of 12 year old kids’ wildest dreams and ripping the lead to Black Diamond while we slid right into KISS circa ‘76, choreography and all on your home court at MSG. The best songs of the band never left the turntable even during the hardcore days when Deranged Diction played Ace’s groovy Parasite and Green River played at least a couple versions of his very underrated Strange Ways. @acefrehleyofficial
