    My favorite player as a life long Cubs fan. My dad who was from Chicago taught this California girl the joy of being a true Cubs fan. 1982 he comes to Cubs and I as a high school senior followed his every move. 
    His is only jersey I ever bought. 
    So glad he was around team in 2016... I'm heartbroken.

    Damn. I didn't realize he'd been sick. He was a luminary during younger me's baseball card collecting days and a fixture on WGN most afternoons after grade school. Rest easy, Ryne, and condolences to Cubs nation.

    Damn that sucks I’m not a Cubs fan but def appreciated his talent and seemed like a genuine good human! RIP legend
