Which one of them would you like to see behind the PJ drum kit going forward?

That is fantastic news. It makes me very happy!!

    Is MFC an option?
If you mean Matt Fucking Chamberlain, unfortunately, I've forgotten to include him.
No, was just pining over Matt Fucking Cameron.
I thought that you might refer to Cameron, but I think that we've all established, by now, that's out of the equation.
I totally agree. I wasn’t being serious. I wish it weren’t the case.

They've done that in the past with Jack's solo albums.

That actually looks cool. POTR was really good, and Micah is interesting.
  • Dave Krusen
I'm holding out for Dave Krusen.  Would love to see PJ go full circle as a band and end with their original lineup.  I always felt bad for Dave that he was going through so much when they formed that he couldn't be their drummer for long.

Back to the topic, I'm not sure who the new drummer will be, but I'm guessing:

They would skew younger.  It's not easy playing long concerts on the drums at an older age.  It's the engine of the band.  If they want to do longer sets, or keep a drummer for another decade or two, they probably need to look younger (someone still in their 40s).

Not already with a big band.  You don't want to have to share.

Someone that gel's well with the band on personal level.  They need to fit in, kind of thing.

Kinda agree. Someone young & determine to jam well with the band.

I keep thinking it will be Stuverud or Krusen.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Stuverud

"He plays drums in the Oakland-based bands, Slow Phase and REQ'D, and teaches drums, vocals and keyboards at the School of Rock in Berkeley."

But gosh every show I hear on PJ Radio makes me miss MFC. The band's first and best drummer.

A bit off topic but this showed me again why I hope it will not be Dave Krusen.
Have you heard the mixes off Ten with Dave Abbruzzese live drums.
It`s so much better than the original recordings.

And again if you want to know how important a drummer is to the sound of a band listen to this Version of live GO from 2023 with Dave A. drums mixed in. This is how they could still sound today!

The more I think about this the more I think they should go with a younger drummer to bring some energy. You see older bands like Offspring or Foo Fighters for example bring in young drummers and see how much energy they bring and how they make the bands young.
Who that drummer could be for PJ I don't know...???

To each is own I guess, but from a musical standpoint I think these sound terrible. Dave A. is/was a beast, but there is no feel, no swing, and all chops in these examples. Obviously they are a cut and paste job, but let's not get ahead of ourselves and say Dave A. sounds better here.
