I signed up for the pre-order direct through Nintendo, the invite only one. Got an email acknowledging but just curious if anyone has done the invite only route and got one?

    Got one last week for my youngest sons 14th birthday, we got it through Best Buy, only store that had it was about a 35km drive away.

    Signed up for the pre-order too but still haven’t gotten the offer to buy yet. Won’t bother now if it comes. They were sitting on the shelf at Walmart easy to grab for a couple days. Gonna hold off now until after Donkey Kong releases in July.

    We picked one up on release day, there were plenty available on the shelf at a few stores. My son has been saving since it was announced (birthday money, chores, whatever he could do!) and he was counting down the days.
    We went 50/50 with him, with the agreement that if he wanted any extra accessories like the camera, he’d pay for it himself.

    Yeah, the label gamer isn’t something that fits me. I like playing but it doesn’t consume my life like it does for other men. When I sold my 8 bit Nintendo in a garage sale back in 1990 for hockey gear, I didn’t buy another system until 2008. Sold that in 2013 when my first daughter was born, was given a Switch for my 40th by my late sister. I’m guessing your disdain is about the people with unhealthy habits, not towards the systems themselves and how much fun they can be @Wobbie
