So with more songs played and less albums to pull from, why could they play less Ten songs back then?    I guess it is natural in your later touring years to play the hits.  Keep the masses coming back.  

I remember when Why Go, Jeremy, and Porch used to be somewhat rare on a tour.  Alive was played in the first set.  

I just assume it’s easier to play the big songs- rely on muscle memory rather than have to rehearse a ton for each tour.  That said it does feel like they trusted the audience a lot more in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

and as you mentioned why go was a rarity and shelved for nearly a decade before it became a staple. And Porch was a once every 3-4 shows song which was perfect.

I’m thinking for this full set shows, but it’s also a good point that Bridge shows had few Ten songs as they tended to get a bit more creative with sets at these special shows.

Similarly, I was at the Global Citizen show that only had 1 Ten songs played as well.

Yes, excellent point. I just looked at my spreadsheet when I posted this and didn't register the significance of the date. I just assumed it was one of the full shows I've seen them play in Brooklyn. RRHOF is definitely a different category for purposes of this discussion.

The Santa Barbara one was a full show.

I was at The Vic show in 07 (only Why Go) as well, and I’ve got a couple of shows with 4 Ten songs (Cardiff 00, Astoria 06).

A big one for me for many reasons is Newcastle, Australia, in 2006. Only 2 Ten songs, at opposite end of the show - they opened with Alive, and Even Flow closed the first encore 25 songs later. (I know Footsteps is also a Ten-era song, but it doesn’t count!)
