it's a Tom Waits song. I'll look around for a tab but not many exist for him so I don't know if I can help you out

  • I have found some Tom Waits tabs but the tuning and everything seems too complex for an Ed song. Heres what I've found...tell me what you think. Thanks

  • bump for this

if anyone needs the MP3 i can e-mail it
    5/4/2006, 5/12/2006, 5/13/2006, 6/1/2006, 6/3/2006, 6/24/2008, 6/25/2008, 6/27/2008, 6/30/2008, 8/4/08, 8/5/08, 8/7/08
  • That's what I thought too...a little too complex for Ed. Especially since he didn't change guitars at bridge to take into effect a different tuning. PPPPPPPPPLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEEEE help. Thanks

Situations get fucked up and turned around sooner or later...
  • hey, i remember looking for this a few weeks back, finding that version and realising it was wrong.

I found another version that was based around C, and that sounded right to me. i think Eddie moved it up a tone to D so basically it's this (played all in the open position):

I think the intro starts with the chord progression of lines 3 and 4 of the verse, then straight to:

    Verse:
    1. D D7 G D (sun come up it was..)
    2. A A7 D D (sun come up it was..)
    3. D D7 G Gm (sun come up it was..)
    4. D A D D (ever since i put your..)

..then just repeat that for the next verse, then:

    G A Bm D
I'm gonna love you till the wheels roll off.
    G G A A
    Ohhhhh yea

Then third verse is same as first two.
Then repeat lines 3 and 4 of the verse again, then finish with:

    D A G D
Ever since i put your picture in a frame, yeah.

I think that ending part is right, i can't remember what he repeats and how long for on his version etc, so that's what i think it is off the top of my head. This should all be right too, i know the chord progression is right so you might have to play around with the key a bit.

Enjoy, it's a beautiful song to play.
