I moved from Seattle to DC in October 2003. I wanted to go back, but didn't.

I have a work trip in August 2025. I may stay an extra day or two.

Yay

    From my sister.

We drink Colombian at home. I'll get a medium or dark drip at a coffee shop. Almost everywhere has good coffee, except some hotels, because they make it weak for the tourists. :) Wherever she is staying, there will likely be a great local coffee shop/cafe nearby.

    Caffe Ladro (multiple locations)

    Cloud City (neighborhood shop)

    Top Pot Donut (multiple locations)

Stumptown (Originally from Portland, but we don't hold it against them. This is served many places here, but no actual cafe. Go to Ala Mode Pie. Get some pie and Stumptown coffee. The Mexican Chocolate slice is awesome.)

A lot of people like Vivace or Umbria, but I haven't been to either.

I'd recommend joining the "Seattle Foodies" group on Facebook. You can search for any type of food and read what locals suggest.

Have a great time, Ms. Haiku!
I lived on the Olympic Peninsula from '89 to '93 and have family up that way around the Seattle, Oly, and the Sound.  Great years, those were.  I miss that area!

I went in 2009 for the Pearl Jam shows and they did the listening part at Easy Street records in West Seattle. Also saw Ichiro hit a walk off homer off Rivera and Washington beat top-ranked USC on a field goal at the end.
