Jazzmaster fret postion marker question

Ive been seeing lots of Jazzmasters on tv and at gigs with block inlays for the fret markers (like a les paul). When did fender produce these? I think it makes them look really smart, the dot inlays are cool ( I have one) but it just finishes em off nicely with the block inlays

i believe it was a late 60s-early 70s

thing. the jazz basses and some jaguars had them too.

fender japan produces a couple reissue models (way cooler reissues than fender USA produces overall) with the block inlays but i have no idea where to track one down. i see them on ebay from time to time.

The paint on that MIJ is perfect. you can see the 3 colors clearly, just like the originals.

Really, the Japanese build wonderful cars, why shouldn't we trust thier guitars? The Grestch's and Ibanez's are great.

I really like the blocks too.

Bill Nash could do all of that, and USA customs doesn't charge extra for leftys
