Yeah, really wanted Setting Sun. Still missing it. But Leash was killer and kept the energy high!

Wait.  They replaced setting sun with Josh request Leash?

Is that the biggest upgrade in concert history?
If I remember correctly, in the fall MSG1 they skipped DoC and played LBC.

I usually like to see some cuts from Binaural and RA, but this set looks pretty great on paper.

For present day PJ, this is as good a set as you can ask for. They are in a groove and seem to have found their sweet spot. Close to half the set will be Dark Matter and Ten songs. Then it's just a whether or not they pull more from VS, Vitalogy, or Yield. Once in awhile, No Code will sneak up into the top 3.  Then the other albums fill in the last bits.  It's working for them, obviously. They sound amazing and seem like they are having a blast.

Do I miss the 2010-2018 touring style? Of course! But that was seemingly not maintainable for them and I'd rather have them around for a few more years if it means cutting back the length (and song selection) of their shows.

Wasn’t mentioned here so I’ll add that when they came out for the encore Ed said backstage they’d been (arguing?) trying to figure out how to play (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay. Evidently they couldn’t get it down but that would’ve been something. Still buzzing from being in the pit last night! Adrenaline > foot pain 😂

Dark Matter songs were the only post 2000 songs played last night.  Everything else was Ten through Yield. Old school set for the most part.

In my observation these heavy pre 2000 sets are the most popular w the fanbase, and I get it, I can't hate on that. I would be happy to hear this setlist.

Personally the decline in post 2000s material has really chipped away at the "anything can happen" feeling that used to be a key component of PJ shows.

It’s also probably a bit more challenging to through in a ton of variety AND keep fans happy when they don’t tour every year and do pretty short tours for a long while now.

PJ and DMB are number 1 and number 2 on my favorite bands list. I love going to DMB and hearing a mix of recent songs, some hits and rarities-but they do big long tours every year (think they’ve only taken 2 breaks with shorter tours in 30+ years) so I’ve heard all the older album stuff a shit ton over 20 some shows over the years since my first show in 1996

With PJ I think these shows were 8 and 9 for me, and first since 2016, so even as a huge fan I was more stoked to hear things like Present Tense, Deep, Hail, Hail, All These Yesterdays, Off He Goes, Leash, RVM, Porch, Alive etc. etc. than newer stuff since some I’d never caught live and it had been ages since I heard some of them.

Not that I’d have been disappointed with more songs for later albums as I like a lot of that stuff too! Would like to have heard Dance of the Clairvoyants live as I couldn’t catch them on the Gigaton tour—the rescheduled date post COVID just didn’t work for us to make the trip to St. Louis.

I don't think you should be so resigned to this. On the western leg in 2024, they went much deeper into the catalog, playing 98 different songs across ten shows despite the fact that fully a third of the total songs played were the new songs from Dark Matter. For whatever reason, they moved away from that approach on the second leg in 2024. I'm just glad that the run of shows that I went to was the western run. I don't think there's been a single set since then, other than Ohana, where I've looked at it and thought I missed out on something I hadn't seen before or often. (And I went to Ohana, so I didn't miss out on those.)
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Only played once, in my now hometown of Murfreesboro... and they are in Nashville next week. Hmm... That would be fire.

I like the Atl 1 setlist better - 2 Avocado songs is about as good as you can get nowadays. Obviously I can't judge the shows since I wasn't there.
