I wish the band would do a proper deluxe reissue of Binaural. There were a lot of great outtakes and demos from that album that have still never seen a proper release.

It's almost criminal what we got instead of the original track listing.
Here is the original tracklisting that surfaced back in early 2000...
    1. "Breakerfall"
    2. "Insignificance"
    3. "Evacuation"
    4. "Letter to the Dead"
      • Later renamed to "Sad"
    5. "Rival"
    6. "Grievance"
    7. "Light Years"
    8. "Of the Girl"
    9. "Thin Air"
    10. "Nothing as It Seems"
    11. "Fatal"
    12. "Sleight of Hand"
    13. "Soon Forget"
    14. "In the Moonlight"
    15. "Parting Ways"
    16. "Education"

So I agree and disagree with your point.
    • This 16-track tracklisting is just too much.  Too many albums in the 90's/early 2000's just became bloated with too many tracks.  I love the restraints of a standard vinyl album.  45 minutes is about ideal.  I feel like a ton of albums from this era would've benefitted with the "less is more" attitude.
    • "Parting Ways" is the perfect closer.  "Education" after "Parting Ways"?  Get the fuck out of here.  And get rid of the stupid "typing" hidden track... "Parting Ways" fading out should be the closer on Binaural.
    • Pearl Jam historically has great tracks in slots 2 and 3.  "Gods' Dice" and "Evacuation", in my opinion have always hampered this album, especially in those early slots and back-to-back.
    • I don't think this 16-track album flows at all.
I don't remember that at all. Was it an official release that was cut down, or a leak?

I also agree with too many albums being bloated. Mellon Collie would be an amazing single album. Same with Use Your Illusion 1 and 2.  But too many fillers for me to enjoy all the way through.
I feel the same with Vitalogy. Cut out 2 or 3 of the "not real songs" and it would have been so much better and kept the flow.

"Writer's Block" doesn't Bother me at the end. It's a hidden that track only plays if you let it keep playing after a few minutes of silence. To me, the albums ends with Parting Ways.

I will probably consider adding it at that price even though I'm not super fond of the album, but moreso I found Vitalogy's Blu-ray, an album I am fond of, has dropped out of rotation pretty quickly. The only Atmos mix on there I've found enjoyable is Nothing Man...and that's great because it's such a fantastic track, but the other songs I love like Corduroy just sound narrow, muffled, not making good use of the soundfield.

I guess they've got their guy, but I pine to hear one of the albums mixed by Bob Clearmountain or Steven Wilson. Be more adventurous, and maybe allow some clarity too, seems the upper registers and just totally flat. That's more mastering's fault, but I don't have an EQ in my system and that's not a problem with the better Atmos mixes. The new Blu-ray of Purple Rain for example, listening to I Would Die 4 U, it's alive, it sizzles, and it's got good activity in the rears and heights.

I really, really want to like Vitalogy's surround mix but each time I've gone back to it, it disappoints.

ive listened a few times already......stunning. Insignificance has always been highly regarded by me, sounds better than ever in Dolby an so fortunate to hear it twice on this Tour! Grievance too, light years was great in Raleigh, Sleight of Hand in Pitt....Sad gods Dice got the axe one night....Lot of friends at the time told me PJ lost their fastball on this release. PFFFT
