    I am important
    I am fortunate
    I am grateful
    I am fucked up
    I am
    In love

    Sometimes
It's like heaven, a swirling and twirling around my head, that slowly makes it's way throughout and I swear I can feel your weight.

    Sometimes
It's like when I'm having a conversation with a friend and I look up and realize they've left the room.

    My Symphony
    By William Ellory Canning

To live content with small means
To seek elegance rather than luxury
    and refinement rather than fashion
    To be worthy not respectable
    and wealthy not rich
To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly
To listen to stars, birds, babes and sages
    with open heart
To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely,
    await occasions, hurry never
In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden, and
unconscious grow up through the common
This is to be my Symphony

If you notice, the word love is not included
    Perhaps it was written
    about love

When your life's work is over
and the story is at it's end
You'll remember all the time given
the hours, the days, the nights
    the years
    the years
    the years
    Filled with obligations, successes, heartaches
    revelations and perhaps, misplaced love

    Now, a new story begins
And the love you gave to your life's work
is perhaps, lying in the bed next to you

    Any work left behind
    will find it's own way

We are like the stars, you and I
    All brilliant and extraordinary
And even when the night sky is filled with clouds
    I am not afraid
For, I know they're still there, shining bright

Lately, I've been reading, daily, a poem about
    Patience
Meant to keep me in check
To push back the sadness and frustration
To stop the flow of words, that hurt

But today I wonder if what I really feel is
    Acceptance

    And, although both are calming
    Patience, implies hope
    Acceptance, implies......giving up?

As long as I remain calm
I guess it doesn't really matter

    I say it doesn't matter
    instead of I don't care
    Because I do
    And if it doesn't matter
    then I am less
    bitter

    I am this other thing

    Our time together is less,
    whether by circumstance or design
My days are long and the nights are longer
So, I guess it does matter
    until it doesn't
    And I'll be here
    until I'm not

    I will not let
    the fear,
    the unknown and unseen,
    the loneliness
    dictate who I can love

    I am not afraid
    to love
    who I love

    I love, who I love
    Who, I love
    You, I love
