I was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice when buying a 2nd hand guitar. Im looking for a fender strat or tele, could anyone recomend any good years, re issues, models ect. Also what things should I look for when buying? Does having after market pick ups ect effect the value?

make sure it plays nice and the neck is straight, and it stays in tune up the neck. i once bought a charvel and the body was a charvette with a charvel neck on it, the intonation was always a mess, ends up the neck was off a different scale length body, what a mess, i guess the locking nut with a standard bridge was a bit of a giveaway, but a lesson learned

The Telecaster '52 reissue is the best of the best as far as Tele reissues are concerned... beautimus tone out of that beast...
