I just heard on 99.9 a little bit ago that they are working on their new album and that the distribution is going to be a lot like how Radiohead did their latest.

Just what I heard on the radio, take what you will from it.

I think a lot of Message Pit users could have written/spoken that "update" just as easily as the radio jock.

    Thanks for the tip, though.

  • I hear they are only releasing their 9th album on 2 8-track tapes.

How much would you pay though? For a Radiohead style and not the 8-tracks.

if its name your price than its always a penny. why pay more? if you are too lazy to come up with a price than you get a penny in my book.

    Fucking AWESOME!!!

I am just excited to know they are working on a new album.

The Radiohead distribution is fine - as long as they still end up releasing a fully mastered CD and LP.

I'm not buying this. It sounds too much like that blog on a Seattle newspaper website a few weeks ago. I think the DJ read that and took it as fact.

  • Cool news! I am betting that Matt Cameron divulged that info to them yesterday while he was at KISW. This info has not been heard before his appearance.

Sweet! Can't wait for that gig to happen! I still have a few vintage 8-track tapes laying around here. Tonight, i'll kick it with the Beastie Boy's Paul Boutique 8-track album. Can't wait ...

I heard that it was going to be released on four 78 rpm vinyl discs and mailed out in plastic bags.

  • I have heard that they will be releasing it on biodegradable discs...they only have a shelf life of approximately 2 months...something to do with offsetting their carbon footprint and encouraging people to buy digital copies instead of the actual CD. They also clearly want people to keep buying the album, as it breaks down so quickly. Apparently these biodegradable discs cannot harm your CD player, in fact if the CD player ingests the disc upon it's breaking down, it will actually enhance the player's performance.

There is way too much smoke going around without there being at least a little fire (B-Sides?).

If they're using some Avocado leftovers...it wouldn't take long to craft the rest of the album. If in fact it is the 9th A-side record.

  • I'll be a little bummed if I have to download the new album. I never liked the 2005/2006 method of boots. I like having a physical CD, w/ a tracklisting and all that

I don't buy it. In that recent interview with Stone he could have easily said that they'll be working on a new album soon, but didn't. He made it sound like he didn't even know what the band was going to do next, but that they would do something. I think it's just dj's assuming things so they have stuff to say about the band. As much as I'd like it to be true, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

How much would you pay though? For a Radiohead style and not the 8-tracks.

May favorite part about 8-tracks is when they fade out mid-song, click, change sides, and fade back in. Seamless.
