P-100s vs P-90s

Just wondering what the difference is between P-100s and P-90s and what sound qualities each has... any info is appreciated

P-90's are single-coil pickups, P-100's are humbuckers. The P-100 was designed to give players P-90 tone without single-coil hum. It's a very similar idea to the stacked humbuckers you see in some strats, which look like single-coils and have single-coil tone, but have a dummy coil to get rid of hum. I've never heard if there are any differences between a P-90 and a P-100 in sound quality... but if you hate buzz and hum, or play in places with lots of RF interference, the P-100 is for you! There is also the P-94, a P-90 pickup in a humbucker-sized nickel-covered body.

The stock Gibson pickups are great, and Seymour Duncan and Lindy Fralin both make really good P-90 type pickups. The Fralins see duty in Vedder's guitars.
