If you do the Johnny Cash Museum check out the his bar next door.  Live music and make your way to the second floor where it’s designed as a replica of the cabin where he was born.  Totally unexpected when we wandered up there.

I have some music recommendations: the Country Music Hall of Fame (for any music lover), Hatch Show Prints also has a store on site. They make gig posters and some really cool stuff. Third Man Records is also nearby. The arena is right in the middle of downtown so you'll get your fill of that on the two days of shows. Personally, I wouldn't visit any other time. It's really changed alot in the last 10 years and not for the better, IMO.

In 2022 my son and I did Hatch Show Prints tour, toured the Ryman and caught their minor league baseball team. All were worth it.

I moved from Nashville to Georgia several years ago so I don't really know about new places but I always enjoyed the burgers at Brown's Diner. It's a hole in the wall but it's been around forever. Gabby's Burgers and Fries is also really good.

You don’t need to get hot. Party Fowl does some decent chicken without much spice. Had dinner there in a work trip few years back. We stayed at Omni, and it was about a 10-15 minute walk.

Edit: this place does burgers too. Just checked their menu.

I second the visit to Third Man Records. Tickets can be tricky to get and they go on sale at weird times so check the website.

I took my son in ‘we, he’s a big Jack White fan. It’s a very unique tour. We lucked out and met the co-owner of TMR, Jack’s nephew, and the man who writes liner notes or the shows on Nugs, Ben Blackwell! He was very cool and had fun stories to tell.

The country music hall of fame is actually pretty cool too.

has anyone done Peg Leg Porker?

Procrastinating with studying, and looking at things to do/places to eat.

Anyone wanna do moonshine tasting at Ole Smokey (6th and Peabody)?

    Bars and eating

Downtown Nashville where the craziness is-

Acme Feed and Seed- highly recommend. Good rooftop area to drink, view of the stadium and Nashville. 4 levels

Tootsies- one of oldest bars in Nashville- I’d go there for afternoon drink. Crowded at night

Then you can basically choose whatever other one on strip looks good. Very similar. Loud, beers, and music.

The gulch- I’d recommend this area for brunching and day boozing.

    Eating spots

City House - great dinner and pizza spot- I’d recommend a reservation- about a 10 min Uber ride from hotel

Husk- walkable great food, sister restaurant of husk in Charleston. Good for brunch and dinner. Reservation recommended

Moto- Italian spot in gulch- excellent- reservation recommended

    Milk and Honey- brunch spot

    Biscuit Love- brunch spot

Brunch very popular with the ladies and men of Nashville- put name in and walk around, grab a Bloody Mary

Two bbq spots in town that are really good

Martins Bbq and Peg Leg Porker- lunch or dinner

Nashville hot chicken-Hattie B’s the original , princes hot chicken shack

I've had the hot chicken sandwich several times, and always been disappointed with the heat level. Maybe I just went to the wrong places.

I would avoid Tootsie's...warm beer, way too crowded (which is why they can't keep beer warm)

Robert's Western World and Second Fiddle are the two best bars in my opinion. Robert's being #1 for true country.

I do like to hang out at Kid Rock's only because the music is a bit heavier but it gets old and the beer is expensive.

Broadway Brewhouse has decent food. Otherwise hit the Assembly food hall...lots of options that are decent
