I did the Ole Smokey tasting. It’s not far from the arena. Had fun and will likely do it this trip as well.0

Might try Hattie B's this trip - I did like Party Fowl and it was recommended over Hattie B's0 -

@mace1229 If you try Prince's, they have a heat scale to choose from when you order to decide how hot you want it. Last time, I made the mistake of choosing the 2nd hottest, thinking no chain is gonna serve anything that's too hot. I was wrong.

A few people mentioned burgers. Saw someone mention Gabby's, which is one of my favorites. Only open during lunch though. Hugh Baby's is great (it's owned by same guy that owns Martin's BBQ). Joyland. Hear good things about Cledis Burgers and Brew, but I have not been there. it's a bit out from downtown on Elm Hill Pike. Also, inside the arena is Rotiers. It's at its own stand by main entrance. It's a great burger that used to be a Nashville institution for 50 years before it closed several years ago. it's made the exact same way they used to make it at their restaurant too on French bread.
Downtown area (in addition to what others have mentioned):
Steaks - Bob's (by the arena in the bottom of the Omni). Jack Ruby's. Bourbon Steak on top of JW Marriot. Jimmy Kelley's (a little further out near 23rd ave)
Assembly Food Hall - Lots of great local selection's and a few bars inside also, with live music.
Broadway Brewhouse - Pretty much only a local place. Great beer selection and good food too
Martin's BBQ joint. Peg leg Porker.
Monell's - Germantown. Family style dining, so you'll be seated with other people at the same table of about 10-12. If you go during the day, you can choose between breakfast or lunch. I think Fried Chicken is served with every meal, then 1 other meat item and lots of sides. you pass it around and get to know the people you're sitting with.
Brunch/breakfast - Biscuit love. Loveless. Pancake Pantry. Hemingways
East Nashville - Edley's BBQ, Emmy Squared, Hawker's Asian Street Food. Joyland. Five Points Pizza. Hugh Baby's. Butcher and Bee (they used to have a great burger that was only available at the bar. it's not on the menu, but really good). Bolton's. I Dream of Weenie is great too. it's a walk up hot dog stand
Breweries - Tailgate (several locations, but main one is on Charlotte Ave about 20min west of Downtown. Also one in East Nash.Good food too). Bearded Iris. Yazoo. Black Abbey. Tenn Brew Works. Jackalope. Southern Grist. Yee Haw Brewing. Many others, but haven't been to them.
Monday before the show will be Cinco De Mayo so all Mexican places will have specials. Cilantro (East Nash), St Anejo, are some good ones around downtown.
Think I saw someone mention golf too - Greystone (about 40min drive west of downtown. My personal favorite). Hermitage has 2 courses, both great (Presidents Reserve is tougher. Generals Retreat is original and used to host LPGA event). Shelby Park Metro Course (recently redone and good track). Gaylord Springs (links style and used to host Champions tour event years ago. It's pricey, and tough, but always in great shape). Two Rivers Metro Course near Gaylord Springs. Lots of Metro Public courses that are good.
If anyone is in town the weekend before, or any locals too, on Saturday 5/3 our astronomy club will be hosting a free star party at Edwin Warner Park in West Nashville from 8pm till about 10pm, weather permitting of course. I'll be at the Metallica Show, but anyone is welcome.Post edited by ponytd on0 -

I second Monell’s above. And definitely do that TMR tour if the days match up.0

Ryman has good tours.
National Museum of African American Music is under Assembly Food Hall and across the street from the Arena and Ryman is great.
Centennial Park.
Frist Art Museum.
Farther out if you're into history is the Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson
Head to Lynchburg to Jack Daniels.0
