Mariners and Padres to Play in Vedder Cup 2025
Beginning in May ‘25, the Vedder Cup invites two clubs to play in this all-new season series that ties both sports and music together in support of EB Research Partnership.
This year, the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres go head-to-head in six matchups with the winner taking home a trophy and guitar personally provided by Eddie, thereby formalizing the longtime, fanmade moniker: the Vedder Cup. As part of the annual series, the Mariners and Padres will also partner to support EB Research Partnership, a charity co-founded by Eddie and Jill Vedder as a trailblazing nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research to discover treatments and cures for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
The series premieres May 16-18 with the Mariners traveling to San Diego for 3 games at Petco Park. Tickets will be available for purchase at padres.com/Vedder.
Picking back up August 25-27, Seattle will host the Padres for triple matches at T-Mobile Park - the last of which being the series finale. For more information, Mariners fans can visit mariners.com/VedderCup.

If the series is tied upon its conclusion, the winner will be the team with the greater run differential throughout the six games. Failing that, the team with the highest exit velocity recorded on a hit will reign supreme.
