Republicans want to cut funding for PACT act that supports Vets.

VoteVets strongly opposes H.R. 1968,
the Republican full-year Continuing Resolution, and urges every Member
to vote NO. H.R. 1968 would decimate programs that millions of Veterans
rely on. It would cut $22.8 billion from the PACT Act – healthcare for
Veterans with cancer and other diseases from toxic exposures — as well
as billions in support for homeless Veterans, Veteran small business
owners, and more. We applaud the statement
by Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark
and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar and urge every Member to join
them in voting NO.

Vets rely on the funding from PACT for everything from medical help to rehabilitation to counseling.A vet who I was very near and dear to my heart and who suffered from PTSD as a result of three tours in Iraq killed himself very recently (I just found out yesterday). Vets like him need counseling support, and even then, sometimes they just can't go on. But with help, many do go on. I am broken hearted, and now, to read that MAGA want to gut the PACT program, I am more disgusted than ever with this current administration. Please write or call your representative and as them to opposes H.R. 1968Request from VoteVets:

Unfortunately, this is not new. republicans have multiple times over the years attempted to reduce benefits for active duty and retired veterans.
For example: at the height of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, they not only attempted to reduce benefits, they tried to reduce death benefits.
Luckily this didn't happen. In fact the death benefits were increased.
The republican "politicians" are hypocrite grifters.Post edited by Bentleyspop on0 -
