there’s a shit ton of bands I’d like to see here. Not necessarily the headliners. Anybody been? Didn’t PJ play this? If I want to see “lesser” bands, will they overlap or can I see them all?

Ive never been. I really looked into this last year but choose not to go after talking with folks. Even though its a ton of bands, their sets are very short. Seems to be in large parking lot, very crowded, with a lack of shade. I know the two main stages are situated right next to each other so folks wont miss sets. I am not sure of the smaller stages, however.

    Danny Wimmer presents.

Man rhis group knows what the fuck they are doing. Used to be Rock On The Range at Crew Stadium in Columbus. The business partners split and Danny went onhis own. It changed to Sonic Temple. They get incrementally better every year.

Suggest 3-4 day pass. even if you only go one or two days its a wash. paid 288 or something for each 4 day pass. individual passes are between 149 plus fees up to 179 plus fees. typically thats fairly evem across the board but metallica headlines friday and sunday with friday being the 179 price.

Ran into some folks at a truck stop down there, in one of the side stage bands. seemed they had the same vibe there.

looking through that festivals page they are all ga whereas sonic temple is ga field and ga stadium seats plus the levels of vip....

I guess b and b is held on the churchill downs grounds....

Yeah, I’m a little concerned about short sets. Could be the main band I want to see (The Hold Steady) would get a one hour slot at 2:00 in the afternoon. They play so few shows, I’m also considering going to Minneapolis to see them at First Avenue.

look for previous years schedules/times. think an hr is generous for 2pm thats like 2nd or 3rd band up with change overs.

Sonic Temple starts at 11am.side stages. main stage about 5pm through to headliner. early main stage are 30-45 min sets.

I don't like the venue at all. Concrete and rocks mostly. Too many people, long lines for everything. You have to walk a mile from where you park.

Sometimes the line ups are hard to resist though.
