Post a song for these shaky times.  When all else fails, play some music!

Rip out the table
We need room to move
In a life unstable
You're so easily amused
Anywhere you hang
Yourself is home
Throw in a tape, fix the tone
Someone take the wheel
And I don't know where we're going
Anybody say what your feel
Back home I guess it's still snowing
The windows are dirty let's hope it rains
Add another newspaper
Something to do with my change
I see we're fighting again
In some fucking land
Throw in another tape man
Someone take the wheel
And I don't know where we're going
Anybody say what you feel
Everybody's sad, but nobody's showing
Show me one night
Kiss until a long time
Show me one night
Show
The music is pounding
Out in that rain
And we're standing in the shadows
Forever on the brink
Turn it up so I don't have to think
Someone take the wheel
And I don't care where we're going
Anybody say what you feel
Everybody's sad, but nobody's showing
Someone take the wheel
Someone take the wheel

"Don't give in to the lies.  Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth.  And to hope."

Leave it to PW to spit out such great lyrics!

I hope he does one final tour!

^^^ Thanks for the good contribution, M!

Here's another one that struck me as relevant to today, maybe even my #1 pick for this thread topic.  Lou Reed, "There is No Time":

This is no time for celebration
This is no time for shaking hands
This is no time for backslapping
This is no time for marching bands
This is no time for optimism
This is no time for endless thought
This is no time for my country right or wrong
    Remember what that brought
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
This is no time for congratulations
This is no time to turn your back
This is no time for circumlocution
This is no time for learned speech
This is no time to count your blessings
This is no time for private gain
This is the time to put up or shut up
It won't come back this way again
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
This is no time to swallow anger
This is no time to ignore hate
This is no time to be acting frivolous
Because the time is getting late
This is no time for private vendettas
This is no time to not know who you are
    Self-knowledge is a dangerous thing
The freedom of who you are
This is no time to ignore warnings
This is no time to clear the plate
Let's not be sorry after the fact
And let the past become our fate
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
This is no time to turn away and drink
Or smoke some vials of crack
This is a time to gather force
And take dead aim and attack
This is no time for celebration
This is no time for saluting flags
This is no time for inner searching
    The future is at hand
This is no time for phony rhetoric
This is no time for political speech
This is a time for action
    Because the future's within reach
    This is the time
    This is the time
    This is the time
    Because there is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time
    There is no time

    These bastards stole their power
From the victims of the Us v. Them years
Wrecking all things virtuous and true
The undermining social democratic downhill slide into abysmal
Lost lamb off the precipice into the trickle down runoff pool
    They hypnotized the summer, ninteen-seventy-nine
Marched into the capital brooding duplicitous
    Wicked and able, media-ready
    Heartless, and labeled
    Super US citizen, super achiever
    Mega ultra power dosing, relax
    Defense, defense, defense, defense

    Yeah, yeah, yeah
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland
    Yeah, yeah, yeah

    The information nation took their
Clues from all the sound-bite gluttons
1980, eighty four, eighty eight, ninety two too, too
How to be what you can be,
    Jump jam junking your energies
How to walk in dignity with throw up on your shoes
    They amplified the autumn, ninteen-seventy-nine
    Calculate the capital,
Up the republic my skinny ass
    TV tells a million lies
    The paper's terrified to report
Anything that isn't handed on a presidential spoon
I'm just profoundly frustrated by all this
So, fuck you, man (fuck 'em)

    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland

If they weren't there we would have created them
    Maybe, it's true
But I'm resentful all the same
Someone's got to take the blame
I know that this is vitriol
    No solution, spleen-venting
But I feel better having screamed
    Don't you?
    They desecrated winter, ninteen-seventy-nine
    Capital collateral
Brooding duplicitous, wicked and able, media-ready
    Heartless, and labeled

    Super US citizen, super achiever
    Mega ultra power dosing, relax
    Defense, defense, defense, defense

    Yeah, yeah, yeah
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ignoreland

    Yeah, yeah, yeah
And that takes us out of the record
    And into the revolution
    Take it.

I see you worried & hurried
    As if addressing the jury
    You are innocent
    Til proven innocent
    You are hurting
    And it’s so magnificent

    Don’t let the sky hook
    Beat you to submission
    Maybe it’s the price of
    Price of our admission

    Ain’t no fucking roses
    To our condition
    Turn this anger into
    Nuclear fission
    Yeah baby, baby

    Don’t react, respond
    Don’t react, respond
    When what you get
    Is what you don’t want
    Don’t react, respond

Are we at war with each other?
Are you at war with yourself?
    We could be fighting together
    Instead of fighting ourselves

    Start the rebuttal
    All part of the game
    What makes us different
And what makes us the same

    The incandescence
    That is your essence
    The unexpected embrace
    Embrace the unexpected

There’s no book on this life
    There’s no use as directed
    The best part I know
    Was when we were connected

    And the light gets brighter
    As it grows
    The darkness it recedes

    It’s better to give
    Give than to deceive
    Questions dissolve
    The more you believe

    Don’t react, respond
    Don’t react, respond
    When what you get
    Is what you don’t want
    Don’t react, respond.

The great Barry McGuire, yes!  Although I always list Beach Boys as my first concert experience, McGuire was actually the first (then) contemporary musician I ever saw.  It was 1959 and he was with his folk group, The New Christie Minstrels.  It was at the christening of the first UAL DC-8 event for my father's job.  What a voice!

Unfuck the World - Prophets of Rage

    https://youtu.be/6ad4MH7fMLs?si=Ys6zWqkStV6SfB-v

    No hatred
    Fuck racists
    Blank faces
    Time's changin
    One nation
    Unification
    The vibration
    Unfuck the World!
    No hatred
    Fuck racists
    Blank faces
    Time's changin
    One nation
    Unification
    The vibration
    Unfuck the world!
Poverty hit home like a war zone
Check America's pulse, heard a death tone
Division hitting like a bullet to precision
Kill the dream, kill the vision, now listen
What the fuck are you waiting for?
Stand up and rise like the tide
And move your ass with the quickness
You may live on the hit list
    No fear, bare witness
Where's ya heart at the heartless can't say
Bow down, just do what the man say
Buy them lie them deny it all day
In a box they locked in the dead lay
Bombs dropping on cities where kids play
Soldiers falling in the name of freedom hey
Civilians buried in the rubble where dreams die
Politicians spew lie after fucking lie
    No hatred
    Fuck racists
    Blank faces
    Time's changin
    One nation
    Unification
    The vibration
    Unfuck the world!

Poverty hit home like a war zone
Check America's pulse, heard a death tone
Division hitting like a bullet to precision
Kill the dream, kill the vision, now listen
What the fuck are you waiting for?
Stand up and rise like the tide
And move your ass with the quickness
You may live on the hit list
    No fear, bare witness
Where's ya heart at the heartless can't say
Bow down, just do what the man say
Buy them lie them deny it all day
In a box they locked in the dead lay
Bombs dropping on cities where kids play
Soldiers falling in the name of freedom hey
Civilians buried in the rubble where dreams die
Politicians spew lie after fucking lie

Last stop on the west coast line
    South of the northern border
One small corner on my mind

    Everybody, they know me there
    Don't get any second glances
Chances are that they don't care

    The world has come undone
    Like to change it everyday
    Change don't come at once
It's a wave... building before it breaks

    Can't wait for election day
    Witness the occupation
    Corporations rule the day
Well you know the pendulum throws
Farther out to the one side, swinging
Has to sweep back the other way

    The world has come undone
Another day and who can wait
    Change don't come at once
It's a wave building before it breaks

All this hope and nowhere to go
This is how I used to feel, but no more
    The world has come undone
Like a game that few can play
    Change don't come from one
It's a wave... building before it breaks

That Eddie Vedder is a darned good rhythm guitar player! Great song!  How did that number not end up on a regular release LP?  Good choice there. GG!

Excellent question, Marvin, for these smoke and mirror times.
Awww, yeah!  I'm unabashedly fond of that song and the video.  It's gets a lot of flack but oh well, you'll still see me dancing down the cereal isle if it happen to be playing in the grocery store!

    Inseminated Person, Inseminated Person
There's too many of you crying
    Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today, yeah
    Father, father
    We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
    Picket lines and picket signs
    Don't punish me with brutality
    Talk to me
    So you can see
Oh, what's going on (What's going on)
What's going on (What's going on)
What's going on (What's going on)
What's going on (What's going on)
    Right on, baby
    Right on, baby
    Right on
    Inseminated Person, Inseminated Person
    Everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply 'cause our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
    Picket lines and picket signs
    Don't punish me with brutality
    Come on talk to me
    So you can see
What's going on (What's going on)
Yeah, what's going on (What's going on)
Tell me what's going on (What's going on)
I'll tell you, what's going on (What's going on)
    Right on, baby, right on
    Right on, baby
    Right on, baby, right on

    Gotta be fake news, right?
