Scanning in super-8 footage isn't all that expensive

Therefore, Pearl Jam should give the filmmakers the cash to get the Vote for Change super-8 film (or a concert-only cut if the interview bits feels moot) scanned in 2-4K (don't need any discussion on what different film formats maxes out at) and released in 2K or even 4K.
Even that DVD-release from back when, was on a burned out DVD-5 I seem to remember. Not even a dual layered DVD. And if there is one thing that mpeg-2 compression is not nice to - it's grain.
It was shot on film. And it had Pearl Jam and Neil sharing the stage. Why have it stuck looking totally destroyed?
